1980 Craig departed from his native town of Newcastle, Australia to travel and surf in Europe . The surf shop/ school opened in 1985 to provide surf products not only to locals but also to visiting surfers from around the world.After more than 35 years the surf shop/ school is still one of the most important in Europe.

My name is Mike Dobos, born in Florida (USA), resident of Mundaka for the last 26 years. I have been surfing for more than 40 years. On arriving to Mundaka, I was surprised by the beauty of the town and of course the quality of this famous wave. Surfing is my passion and also my profession. I have over the last 20 years dedicated to teaching and try to pass on my experience to all students. My work is divided between a surf instructor and also surf coach.
XABI GONDRA
My name is Xabi Gondra, local Mundaka surfer. I have been surfing since I was 7. Since the very first day I caught a wave I felt a conexión that you don’t get from other sports, connecting with the ocean and especially with the surfing community. During the first years, I took clases from different surf schools and with a lot of dedication I bought my first surfboard. From this moment I began to surf better and enjoy the experience of teaching in the best school in the area. I teach a long side good friends and the legendary instructor Mike Dobos, somebody with an amazing passion who came to surf the wave and ended up living here.
IBON OLAIZOLA
My name is Ibon Olaizola, the passion for surfing I have had since I was 6 years old to which I still have to this day. I have been teaching surf in this school for the last 5 years and it is a highly rewarding job especially working in the best school located at the best left in Europe. I an 21 years old and consider myself extremely responsable making sure the students enjoy a great experience and desire to return to improve and learn more.
KERMAN IZPIZUA
My name is Kerman Ispizua and I am surf crazy. From the first wave I caught on my body board (boogie) when I was 15 years old I have not stopped surfing. My first waves were at the beach of Laida as my parents considered that Mundaka was too dangerous to surf alone. One day with some friends we snuck out to the main break, this was my first surf adventure. I began giving surf lessons with some young kids from my local town in 2020 then I started giving lessons at the Mundaka Surf School 3 years ago. This experience made me interested in education, for that reason I am studying to obtain an education certificate.
