About Mundaka Surf School
Mundaka Surf SCHOOL is located just a few meters from the famous left-hand wave of Mundaka, in Bizkaia, Basque Country.
In 1980, Craig Sage traveled from his hometown of Newcastle, Australia, to Europe. The school opened its doors in 1985 to provide surf equipment not only to local surfers but also to all visiting surfers passing through. After more than 35 years, it remains one of the most important surf shops and schools in Europe.
Craig has always dedicated a large part of his time to teaching locals how to surf—a passion he still enjoys. Over the past 40 years, he has spent countless hours in the water with both young and old, making their surfing experience unforgettable. The surf school was nominated as No. 2 in the Basque Country by Surfing Euskadi for its facilities and the quality of its teaching—something he is proud of and hopes to continue offering for many more years.
We offer classes for all levels, from beginners to advanced, always in a unique natural environment.
